Titus ScurfieldData visualisation

Titus is a digital designer and interface/web developer with over 20 years’ experience. Although his primary focus is online data visualisation, Titus has worked on a wide range of projects from website development to corporate brochures, exhibition panels, packaging, extranets/intranets and email templates. Before he encountered an Apple Mac, he also applied his creativity to designing silk-screen printed scarves for clients such as The National Trust.

Expertise:

  • Website development – lovingly hand coded using HTML5, CSS3, PHP, jQuery.
  • Providing innovative data solutions for client requirements.
  • Client experience includes projects for Seiko, EBRD, City University London, European Social Survey (ESS), Rightmove, F.Hinds, Barclays (BNRI).

Front end development is often considered complex. Involving a client early can really help deliver lower build costs and a better end-user experience.

All time favourite piece of design? ‘Vitruvian Man’ or ‘Divine Proportion’ by Leonardo da Vinci.
Most proud of? My three sons.
All time hero? W. Heath Robinson – wonderfully creative illustrations that suggest unusual solutions to solve everyday problems… usually with string
Guilty secret? ‘The House that Beebo Built’ – a children’s book with imaginative illustrations by Philippe Fix.
Expert tip? Just because it’s 300dpi doesn’t mean it’s high resolution.

Titus is a keen amateur photographer, and during a recent holiday in Scotland took this shot one foggy morning on the shores of Loch Katrine.

‘The House that Beebo Built’ is a charming story, beautifully illustrated, but now sadly out of print and very hard to find.
